“Ogan i zora” [“Fire and dawn”], 2025. The two-panel drawing on wood board looks at the concept of cycles, drawing inspiration from nature-based elements in Bulgarian traditional embroidery and garments. Reflecting on the current socio-political landscape and the ramifications of historical structures and hierarchies on today’s world, the work looks at chaos as both an end and a beginning, finding comfort in nature as its catalyst.
“South of South-East is a three-image series that experiments with and decontextualises imagery initially photographed as raw and representative of Bulgarian nature. The work extracts its original beauty and replaces it with a saturated lens, observing the over-digitalisation of the online world we currently inhabit.
